Qianqian graduated from the University of Ohio with a double bachelor's degree in Financial Analysis and Japanese, and a master’s degree in East Asian Languages and Literature. She also minored in applied data statistics, and became a language lecturer in the University of Ohio. For many years, she taught Chinese, Japanese and Cantonese courses to different grades through the Pedagogy of Performing Another Culture. Zhang has years of experience in working overseas. She worked as a data analyst at TS Tech and was the supplier of Honda Motor at their American headquarters. She also worked for CCTV North America News Studio and CLS Communication Hong Kong, which is one of the top ten translation consulting companies in the world. Her international working experience made her realize the great impact of cultural differences on the establishment of international cooperation and relations, and also let her know the necessity and urgency of cultural education in domestic language programs. She hopes to help Chinese children learn English and culture more effectively and communicate more fluently with native English speakers in the future.

Ferris has received two master’s degrees in Foreign English from Brooks University in Oxford and Convention Planning and Management at Bournemouth University in the United Kingdom separately. She was a lecturer of IELTS spoken English, a full-time lecturer for New Concept English, as well as was in charge of the management of international students in the School of International Education of Zhejiang University. Love, persistence, passion and responsible attitude towards teaching English are her understanding of education and the driving forces for her many years of work. She hopes that she can continue to create better learning environments and learning opportunities for more children.

Caitlin Reyes is from Maumee, Ohio, and recently graduated from The Ohio State University (OSU) with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Science. A caring and cheerful young woman, Caitlin has a passion for helping children of all ages develop and grow at their own pace. She has been teaching various age groups and activities for seven years, including swimming for all ages, preparing Chinese high school students for their TOEFL and IELTS exams, and participating in child-centered learning environments at OSU with children ages 18 months to 5 years of age. Caitlin chose ENGTOPIA because she wants to continue to support children’s development and growth through the Performed Culture Pedagogy. She is very excited to start teaching in Hangzhou and learn about Chinese language and culture.
Professor of Chinese language at the Department of East Asian Languages and Literature at The Ohio University, Tenure Professor at College of William and Mary at OSU, Director of the Chinese Flagship Program at OSU’s China Center. Professor Jian teaches Chinese literature and culture at American universities. His expertise is to apply the theory of Chinese behavioral culture to the development of Chinese pedagogical materials; to use audio and visual network technology to stimulate Chinese cultural environment; to design and organize study-abroad programs in China for American students, and more. Prof. Jian has published books and co-autnored several papers.
Professor of Chinese language at the Department of East Asian Languages and Literature at The Ohio University, Dean of the OSU Chinese Flagship Program, Director of the National East Asian Languages Resource Center, President of Midwest American-Chinese Association. For more than 20 years, Professor Walker devored his time to study Chinese pedagogy. Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures at OSU is America’s first and only doctoral program for Chinese language pedagogy. He established “performing-culture pedagogy” according to how American’s learn other languages.Using these pedagogical methods, he trained a number of Americans who loved the Chinese language. In 2003, he won the “Chinese Language and Culture Friendship Award” awarded by the Ministry of Education of China. So far,he is the only person to receive this honor in the English-speaking world.
As a doctoral student at The Ohio State University, a scholar of American pedagogy of performing another culture, Lin teaches senior Chinese courses at The Ohio State University, and she is also a teacher of a Chinese teaching method exchange training program between Zhejiang University and The Ohio State University. She graduated from Zhejiang University with a bachelor’s degree in German, and has passed the German language examination of level 8. Her master’s degree in international education of Chinese language was received from Zhejiang University. She was a Chinese teacher in the School of International Education of Zhejiang University and a English teacher for middle school students in Hangzhou "New Oriental". She has a lot of experience in language teaching.
Laura Garzon recently completed her Master's Degree in Shanghai, China, through The Ohio State University, U.S.A. After Laura researched the behavior and culture of Chinese customers in the coffee shops of Shanghai, China, she realized although America and China may have many cultural differences, there are also very many similarities. Through these similarities and differences, Laura feels that people from both countries can strengthen their values, and broaden their perspectives. Laura feels that there is a lot that to learn from Chinese culture, and continues to further research and learn about Chinese culture back in the United States. In Summer 2019, she began to work for Cynergy Future Education as the Program Director from the U.S. side. One of her goals is to help provide an American perspective to this company as well as teach American people about the Chinese culture and what it is like to live in China.
Christine graduated from The Ohio State University in 2017 with a BA in International Relations and Diplomacy. After graduation, she moved to Brussels, Belgium to complete her MA in Political Strategy and Communication at University of Kent. While in Brussels, she achieved her TEFL certification and taught English in Poland. In addition to her passion for teaching, she loves travel and learning new languages.
